It’s all about me!

I am thrilled to begin my blog, entertaining new ideas, discussing various topics of interest, as well as providing valuable insights about the wonderful world of real estate. My first introduction to Janet’s Blog is a simple belief system that I adhere to.

I’ve never been known to be anything but blunt. My approach to life is,” you get what you give” and you accept that “life is just like that”. Don’t dwell on the impossible, determine to succeed and you will. Your approach to life should be simple. Each and every day is a new beginning. If by chance yesterday did not go as you would have liked it to, embrace the here and now. Get excited that today is all about second chances. Be delighted that, by the grace of God, you have the opportunity to change the things that you are able to and be content to leave alone that which you cannot. Recently, I listened to an interesting interview involving a very dynamic individual Rabbi Kushner, whose simple analysis of life suggests that we often rent out our hearts to the wrong tenants. If we value our time, we would be more diligent about devoting time to those we love, healing relationships we have bruised, deepening bonds of friendships that we value.

Forget about using energy on superficial experiences that are here today and gone tomorrow. Again, a simple change of attitude will determine a happier me.

Hope this has been inspiring and remember “Life is as interesting as you make it.” That’s my recipe for life and oh by the way spring is here. About the snow, it only makes for an excellent maple syrup season. With that I’ll share one of my favourite family recipes, simple and easy, created by the many farming households that produced maple syrup.

Maple Syrup Pudding

In a buttered bowl, oven safe, pour in the following cake batter mixture
· 1/3 c. butter
· 1 egg
· 1 c. sugar
· ½ tsp. vanilla extract

Mix the above ingredients and add the following, alternating the dry ingredients with the milk

· 3/4 c. flour
· 1/4 tsp. salt
· tsp. baking powder
· 1 c. milk

Combine 1 cup of warm water with 1 ½ cups of maple syrup. Pour over the batter. Place in the oven at 350° for @35 minutes.

This is delicious served with ice cream or a dab of whipping cream. Enjoy!
